Again, this year, there are two scholarships available to students and families. One scholarship is based upon the school district in which you live and the other is based upon household income. Both have been widely expanded this year making them available to many more students and families. 1. EdChoice Scholarship Expansion: This is an income-based scholarship that has been widely expanded to include all students entering Kindergarten through grade 12. The income guidelines have also been expanded to allow families with a higher income to qualify. This scholarship is available to all Ohio, K-12 students whose families meet the income guidelines, regardless of the school they currently attend, even students who are homeschooled, enrolled in an online program, or already enrolled at a private school like ELCS. This scholarship offers K-12 students from underperforming public schools the opportunity to attend participating private schools at no cost to the family. For the 2026-2027 school year, current K-12 grade homeschooled or private school students who would be assigned to an EdChoice public school building named on the Designated School List, regardless of where they attended school the previous year, are eligible to apply.
