Cross Country Coaching Position

East Liverpool Christian School is a Christ-centered, private K–12 institution committed to nurturing the mind, body, and spirit of each student in accordance with biblical truth. We are currently seeking a passionate, experienced CrossCountry Coach who is not only dedicated to athletic excellence, but who also models a strong Christian faith and integrates a biblical worldview into coaching practices.

The ideal candidate will have a heart for ministry, a desire to mentor student-athletes in their walk with Christ, and a commitment to building a team culture rooted in humility, perseverance, and godly sportsmanship.

Position:   Cross Country Head Coach

Full/Part Time:  Part-Time

Primary Responsibilities: 
  • Lead training sessions grounded in discipline, encouragement, and Christ-like character
  • Implement race strategies that foster both individual growth and team success
  • Provide ongoing feedback and support to athletes, focusing on both athletic and spiritual development
  • Cultivate a positive team environment that promotes unity, integrity, and accountability
  • Coordinate schedules, transportation, and logistics for practices and meets
  • Track and assess team and individual performance, setting goals that reflect both athletic and personal growth
  • Represent East Liverpool Christian School and our mission in all public settings, demonstrating humility and professionalism
  • Communicate effectively with parents, faculty, and administration, partnering together for the benefit of the student-athletes

Qualifications & Expectations:
  • A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, and a willingness to affirm and uphold ELCS’s statement of faith
  • Strong knowledge of cross country training and racing strategies
  • CPR and First Aid certification (classes and testing provided)
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Certifications and credentials are required. A list of our requirements will be provided.
  • Experience mentoring youth, with a desire to see student-athletes grow in both skill and character
  • Ability to work collaboratively with school leadership and families within a Christ-centered environment.
