School Nurse Position

Now Hiring – School Nurse (PK–12)
East Liverpool Christian School

Position: School Nurse
Schedule: Part-Time or Full-Time
Status: Currently Open / Accepting Applications

East Liverpool Christian School is seeking a compassionate and qualified PK–12 School Nurse to join our team. This position plays a vital role in supporting the health, safety, and well-being of our students and staff while contributing to a Christ-centered educational environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to students and staff in accordance with professional standards and school policies
  • Assess and treat minor injuries and illnesses; determine when further medical attention is required
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and authorized
  • Maintain accurate, confidential health records for students
  • Develop and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and emergency care plans
  • Monitor and manage chronic health conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, allergies)
  • Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate emergency services when necessary
  • Conduct health screenings (vision, hearing, etc.) as required
  • Promote communicable disease prevention and monitor outbreaks in coordination with local health agencies
  • Educate students, staff, and families on health, hygiene, and wellness topics
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, counselors, and parents regarding student health needs
  • Ensure compliance with state health regulations and school policies
  • Maintain and inventory health office supplies and equipment
  • Provide staff training on health-related procedures (e.g., EpiPen use, CPR awareness)
  • Participate in school safety planning and crisis response teams
  • Support student attendance and wellness initiatives
  • Track and document student attendance; communicate with parents/guardians regarding absences, illness reports, and required documentation or excuses
  • Manage and maintain student medical files, ensuring accuracy, organization, and confidentiality; utilize the FACTS Data System to enter, update, and monitor student health and attendance information
  • Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards in all health-related matters

Educational Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (state required)
  • CPR/First Aid certification
  • Experience in pediatric, community, or school health preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a school environment

  • Demonstrate a mature personal Christian faith consistent with the school’s Tenets and Statement of Faith:
    • Born-again Christian
    • Active church member
    • Evident personal walk with Jesus Christ
    • Biblical lifestyle and character
    • Ability to integrate Biblical principles in counseling and interactions
  • Commitment to Christian education
  • Represent Christ and the school positively within the community
