Position:   Music-Specials Teacher

Full/Part Time:  Part Time or Full Time

• K-8 Music (part time)
• Specials: K-8 Music, Art, Computer (full time)

Responsibilities:

The Music Teacher will:

• Follow school/state/national standards for music education
• Be knowledgeable about the music curriculum and have the ability to implement it
• Plan and prepare lessons
• Prepare, implement, and promote Christmas and Easter music programs for K-8 students
• Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media
• Teach music theory, skills, and practical techniques to students
• Acquire and utilize appropriate teaching materials and resources
• Motivate students and encourage progress
• Maintain records of individual student achievement and evaluating students on a continuous basis
• Meet and instruct assigned classes at designated times
• Measure student progress to encourage the mastery of school/state/national standards
• Assess students' abilities, provide feedback
• Interact collaboratively with students, parents, and administration
• Demonstrate oral and written skills
• Lead a classroom of students with authority and confidence
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills
• Communicate expectations to students and families and work with them to achieve objectives and goals
• Demonstrate and use research-based strategies for effective classroom management, lesson planning, active
• student engagement, and instructional delivery
• Guide students in maintaining acceptable standards of classroom behavior

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree
• Valid Ohio Teaching License or Non-Tax Certificate
• Evidence a mature personal Christian faith consistent with East Liverpool Christian School's Tenets and Statements of Faith by the following:
  • Being a born again Christian
  • Being an active church member
  • Exhibiting a close personal walk with Jesus Christ
  • Modeling an exemplary Biblical lifestyle
  • Evidencing maturity in the understanding and integration of sound Biblical principles in classroom instruction and personal counseling
• Demonstrating an understanding of and a commitment to Christian education
• Presenting a positive image of Christ and the school to others and to the community
